Time of Day routing allows you to automatically redirect calls based on your schedule. For example, calls can ring your office during the day and divert to a mobile or an "Out of Hours" voicemail in the evening.
Routing Example

Option 1: Self-Service (Single SIM / Same Schedule Daily)
If your working hours are the same every day (e.g., MondayโFriday, 9amโ5pm), you can manage this yourself via the dashboard.
Log In: Access your dashboard
Select User: Click Users in the left-hand menu and select the specific SIM.
Navigate: Click the Calls tab at the top of the profile.
Configure Working Hours: * Enter your From and To times and select the relevant days.
Toggle Ring, Forward, or Voicemail to set how calls behave during these hours.
Click Save Changes.
Configure Off Days:
Select specific dates or use the UK Public Holidays box for automatic bank holiday routing.
Set your specific "Off Day" routing (e.g., straight to voicemail) and click Save Changes.
๐ก Important: Understanding "Default" Routing
When you enable Working Hours, your "Default" tab automatically becomes your Out-of-Hours setting.
Example: If your Working Hours are set to 9amโ5pm, MondayโFriday, the system will follow that specific routing during those times.
Outside of those hours (evenings and weekends), the system will automatically revert to whatever settings you have saved under the Default tab.
Pro Tip: Make sure your Default tab is set to Voicemail if you don't want your phone to ring after 5pm!
Option 2: Managed Setup (Complex Schedules & Groups)
If you need different times for each day (e.g., 9โ5 Monday, 10โ4 Tuesday), or need routing for Hunt Groups, IVRs, or multiple SIMs, our support team will set this up for you.
Please email support@onsim.uk with the following:
The Schedule: Clear "From/To" times for each day and the desired destination for those times.
The Target: Which users, main lines, or groups should this apply to?
Notice Period: Please provide at least 48 hours' notice for new setups or amendments.
โ ๏ธ Note: To avoid delays, please ensure your requested timings cover a full 24-hour cycle without gaps. Incomplete information may result in our team needing to contact you for clarification.
๐ก Pro-Tip: Bank Holidays
Using the UK Public Holidays checkbox in the dashboard is the easiest way to ensure your office isn't "ringing out" while your team is away on a bank holiday.
โ ๏ธ Important: The Role of Voicemail
We strongly recommend keeping Voicemail enabled as the final step in your call routing.
Why? If a call reaches the end of your routing chain (e.g., you don't answer and no forward is set) and Voicemail is turned OFF, the call will simply disconnect. This can be confusing for customers, who may assume your line is broken or that the call failed. Keeping Voicemail active ensures every caller has a professional way to leave a message.
