This guide details how to port a mobile number to Onsim, if you would like to port a landline number, please see our landline porting guide.
What do I need to do
To port a mobile number, please email our support team (support@onsim.uk) with the following information:
1 - Mobile Number that you would like to port
2 - PAC code (see below)
You will need to request the PAC code from your current provider of the number. Please ensure you send this over exactly as it has been sent to you as incorrect formatting of the PAC code may mean that the port will fail and we would need to pass on any charges incurred. For example if your current provider gives a PAC code of ABC12345P and you provide this to us as Abc12345p this would cause the port to fail.
How long does this take
Porting of mobile numbers usually takes around 48 working hours from the time we receive the correct information, but exceptional circumstances may delay the process.
On the day of the port we can not guarantee what time this will take place due to the multitude of variables involved. There will be a short period of downtime when the actual port occurs (approximately 2 minutes).
Please ensure that you do not cancel the service with your existing provider of your mobile number until we have confirmed that the port has completed as this may cause you to lose the number.
Will I be charged for the port?
We will cover the cost of the first mobile port , however subsequent mobile ports are chargeable.
If the port fails due to the wrong information (ie PAC code or mobile number) being provided, we would need to pass on the charges for any failed ports to you.
