Before you can activate your service, you need to ensure your SIM card is correctly sized and inserted into your device. OnSim provides a "3-in-1" Multi-SIM, which contains all three standard sizes in a single piece of plastic.
1. How to "Pop Out" Your SIM
Your OnSim SIM card is pre-cut. You do not need scissors; you simply apply light pressure to "pop" the required size out of the frame.
π‘ Pro Tip: Start by popping out the entire plastic piece (Standard size). If that is too big for your phone, push the middle section out to get a Micro SIM. If that is still too big, push the smallest centre piece out to get your Nano SIM.
If you accidentally pop out a size that is too small: Simply push the small SIM back into the larger plastic frameβit acts as an adapter!
Handling: Try to avoid touching the gold metal contacts on the back of the SIM, as oils from your skin can occasionally cause connection issues.
2. Inserting the SIM into your Device
Locate the Tray: Most phones have a SIM tray on the side. You will see a small pin-hole.
Eject the Tray: Use a SIM tool (or a straightened paperclip) to push firmly into the hole until the tray pops out.
Align the Corner: Look closely at the SIM card and the tray. One corner is "clipped" or angled. Match this angled corner to the tray to ensure the SIM is facing the right way.
Push Firmly: Slide the tray back into the phone until it is flush with the edge.
4. What to do next?
Once the SIM is physically inside your phone:
Restart your device: This forces the phone to scan for the new OnSim network profile.
Check for Signal: You should see "OnSim" or bars of signal appear at the top of your screen within 60 seconds.
Follow the Activation Guide: If this is a new service, proceed to our [Physical SIM Activation Guide] to get your number live.
