If you already have a landline number that your customers know and trust, you can bring it with you to ONSIM. Once ported, the number will work as a virtual landline, ringing directly through to your mobile phone.
Porting Fees
There is a one-off porting fee of £20 + VAT to transfer a standard single UK landline number (01, 02, or 03) into our virtual landline service.
Included: This fee covers the administrative and technical costs of moving your number from your current provider to our network.
Monthly Cost: Once the port is complete, your virtual landline service remains just £5/month + VAT.
How to Start the Porting Process
To ensure your number moves safely without any downtime, please follow these steps:
Do Not Cancel Your Current Service: Your number must remain active with your current provider during the entire process. If you cancel your contract early, the number may be released back into the national pool and become unrecoverable.
Gather Your Documents: We require two items to initiate the port:
A Completed Porting Form: (Request this from support@onsim.uk).
Your Latest Bill: A copy of a bill from your current provider dated within the last 3 months.
Submit Your Request: Email both documents to support@onsim.uk. Our team will then handle the technical "handshake" between providers.
What to Expect (Timeline)
Duration: Landline porting typically takes 10 to 14 working days, depending on your current provider's response time.
The Switch: On the day of the transfer, there is usually a very brief period (often just a few minutes) where the number moves over. We will notify you via email once the port is successful.
Interim Setup: While the port is in progress, we can provide you with a temporary landline number so you can start using our service immediately.
Important Notes
Broadband Warnings: If your internet connection is "tagged" to the landline number you are porting, your broadband may be cancelled by your current provider when the number moves. Please check with your ISP to "renumber" your broadband if necessary.
