The Mute feature allows you to silence your microphone during an active call. This ensures the other party cannot hear you or your background noise, while you can still hear them perfectly.
How to Mute a Call
Start or Answer a call as usual.
Press the Mute button (this is the key with the microphone icon with a line through it, usually located toward the bottom right of the keypad).
Confirm: You will see a Mute icon or the word "Mute" appear on the LCD screen.
How to Unmute a Call
Press the Mute button again.
Confirm: The Mute icon will disappear from the LCD screen.
Result: Your microphone is now live, and the other party can hear you again.
Troubleshooting & Tips
Visual Cue: If you aren't sure if you are muted, always check the top of the LCD screen. If "Mute" isn't there, they can hear you!
Headset Users: If you are using a headset, the Mute button on the phone will still work, but check if your headset also has its own physical mute switch, as these work independently.
Switching Calls: If you put a muted call on Hold and then resume it, the phone will usually stay muted. Always check the screen when resuming a call.
